Ruhende Wolle - Resting wool

Gestern Abend bin ich mit dem Verzwirnen fertig geworden. Unglaublich, wie man so über einen wirklich langen Zeitraum den Umdrehungen des Spinnrades folgt, die Gedanken sich ordnen oder sich einfach langsam auflösen. 

Mit der Wolle bin ich bis jetzt ganz zufrieden, zumal es ja die Erste ist. Ich bin gespannt, wie sie später nach dem Waschen auf dem Strang aussieht. :)

Last night I finished plying. Unbelievable how time flies by as you are following the rotation of the wheel. The thoughts are being arranged or they slowly disappear. I'm quite pleased with the wool since it's my first one. I'm really curious now how it will look on the skein after the washing. :)

 

Es ist ein schönes Gefühl, während des Spinnens mit der Wolle "bekannt zu werden", ein Gefühl zu bekommen für die richtige Geschwindigkeit, den richtigen Zug und Rhythmus. Und ich genieße die Stille. Nichts im Ohr ausser dem leisen Surren des Rades. Ich glaube, das ist genau das, was ich im Moment brauche.

 Heute habe ich schon einen Schal gefilzt, der nun im Bad trocknet. Gestern beim Wandern durch das Netz habe ich wieder ein paar wirklich tolle Filzbilder gefunden. Ich habe da immer gleich das Verlangen, selbst auch etwas zu machen! Nur schade, dass heute schon wieder Sonntag ist. Ja, die Zeit im Alltag finden und auch nehmen, das ist auch so eine Sache, die ich unbedingt tun will!

It's a nice feeling "getting to know" the wool during the spinning process, getting a feeling for the right speed, the right rhythm. And I'm enjoying the silence around me. Nothing else to hear except the whirring of the wheel. I think that's just what I'm needing at the moment.

Today I've already finished a new felted scarf which is drying in the bath right now. Yesterday while wandering through the net I found such nice pictures of felted pieces which make me feel like I need to do something right away myself! Unfortunately it's sunday already. Yes, finding time during the week and taking it, that's another thing I need to do!
